Bryan leads the full rehearsal on Sunday morning. They are looking a bit tired from the hard day saturday: morning seating auditions, afternoon sectionals, evening full rehearsal. followed by games and a bonfire!      B. Stack photo.

Percussionist Maneka Puligandla plays the timpani.     B. Stack photo.

How the word gets around: Conductor Bryan Nies explains what he wants to the Principal cellists Bryan West and Victoria Yoon. Next Bryan West turns around and communicates to the second desk. The second photo shows Stephen Shum of the second desk turning around and writing the new notation onto the music of third desk cellist Andrew Cheng.     B. Stack photos.

Oh, yeah. And we also had fun!

on Saturday night we made a bonfire and s'mores.  Gina Hu photo.

Look who came to retreat! The arrogant violas, so to remind the orchestra that last year they took home Bryan's Best OYO Section award, brought their trophy to show off. Bobble away my friends, the competition this year is going to be formidable!
